SanatanJr is a free library for families exploring the stories and traditions of Sanatan Dharma. You don’t need to be an expert to begin.

Start with one story

Let your child choose a topic. Read the short retelling together, pause at an interesting moment, and try one of the questions. There is no test to pass and no streak to keep.

Stories, guides and prayers

Choose a story for a short retelling, a guide to explore a festival, deity or everyday value, or a prayer to read Sanskrit with a simple English or Hindi meaning. The prayer pages are introductions, not pronunciation lessons. Family activities are optional, and local festival practices may differ. Source links lead to fuller material intended for grown-ups, which may discuss topics outside our short reading.

Take a reading to the table

Each reading has a “Print / save PDF” button. It opens your browser’s print options, where you can print or choose Save as PDF when available. The text version includes the reading, questions, activity and source links. Keep it for a quiet moment together or bring it to a family reading group. No account is needed.

Many traditions, thoughtfully shared

Hindu stories have different tellings across texts, regions, and families. Each story includes a source note. Our short retellings and discussion prompts are not word-for-word translations or a claim that one telling is the only one.

How this library is being built

We research sources, write short introductions and retellings, and find possible video companions. The initial library is an editorial pilot. Its English and Hindi text has not been independently reviewed by a religious educator. We do not claim age certification or expert endorsement.

Our first video selections use AI-assisted review of complete available captions, comparison with story sources, sampled visual scenes, and original embed playback tests. This is not a full audiovisual review or an age-suitability certification. We describe the method and relevant content beside each video. Discovery candidates never auto-publish.

Watching together

Published video companions use the original YouTube player. Loading a video connects to YouTube, which may collect usage information and show advertisements. Read the context first and watch with your child. SanatanJr cannot promise an ad-free player.

A small library, freely available

All readings are free. Without signing in, saved readings stay in this browser. An optional parent account keeps them across devices. SanatanJr is made by SupaMakers.
