Saved on this device
While signed out, bookmarks stay in this browser’s local storage. Clearing this site’s browser data removes them. After signing in, you can choose to add these readings to your account.
Remembering your reading place
If you choose “Remember my place”, this browser stores only your latest reading, section and collection. It stays on this device, including while signed in. Turn the option off or choose “Forget my place” on the home page to remove it. We do not send reading positions to analytics or your account.
Optional parent accounts
Google Firebase handles Google and mobile OTP sign-in. Depending on your chosen method, it processes your Google profile and email or mobile number. Google also processes phone numbers and reCAPTCHA information for authentication and abuse prevention. Your browser stores a sign-in session until you sign out or clear its data.
Convex stores your account identifier and saved reading identifiers so your reading shelf works across devices. Account bookmarks stay in your account after signing out; they are not copied to the shared browser. Remove a reading from Saved to delete its bookmark. Signing in does not subscribe you to messages or notifications.
Videos are your choice
The video preview and standard controls connect to YouTube’s privacy-enhanced player when the player loads on the page. Videos do not start automatically; press play to watch. YouTube may collect usage information and show ads. Opening an external source takes you to a separate website with its own privacy practices.
Understanding what is useful
Production measurement uses Plausible to count page visits and actions such as saving a story, choosing the reading or activity section, requesting print, and requesting an activity-pack or observation-sheet download. These actions do not tell us whether a story was finished or a PDF was saved. Our events use story or collection identifiers and language, not names, ages, or search text. Development and preview visits are excluded.
Hosting and changes
Vercel hosts the website and Convex serves the story catalogue. These providers process the technical information needed to deliver the service. Plausible receives page paths and the limited events described above; video viewing is not tracked by our analytics.
